2) What are its characteristics? How does that literary theory help you see the story you have chosen in a new or different way?
3) Now, use the literary theory you chose to develop an original argument about the story you chose from above (like the ones discussed in the “Literary Theories Applied” resource in Week 3). Make sure to incorporate quotes from the story to support your argument.
***NOTE: You can only choose a story that you HAVE NOT already written about in the Week 2 response paper.***
Requirements: -10 for each requirement not met
1) Clearly state which story and literary theory from above you are using in the introduction.
2) Clearly answer all parts of the prompt.
3) Your analysis must contain at least ONE direct quote from each source used (with MLA in-text citation).
4) Your finished response paper must be between 800 and 1,000 words.
Additional Rules:
1) Use only third person point of view to discuss literature. Do not use first person or second person pronouns. This is a research paper, not an opinion piece.

4) Essays with an excess of 20% similarity according to Turnitin may be flagged for possible plagiarism and, at a minimum, additional points may be deducted; however, ANY percentage of similarity to any uncredited source will be subject to closer review and may be flagged for plagiarism.
5) Essays containing AI-generated material (even from sites like Grammerly) according to Turnitin may be flagged for cheating and, at a minimum, a 30-point deduction may apply.
6) When using the stories as a source, you may only use the PDF version if they have been given to you in the Moodle resources.
7) -10 points per day late for the first three days.
8) You will receive an automatic 0% if your work is more than three days late.
Structure

The conclusion paragraph should restate the thesis, summarize the main points of your argument, and offer some closing context or insight regarding your topic.
Mechanics, Grammar, and Punctuation
All written assignments should be mechanically and grammatically correct, with proper punctuation.
Grading:
This assignment will be graded using the Response Paper Rubric that can be found in the Course Rubrics folder.
