Write an “opinion” piece as a “journalist” – meaning you do not have to write it as an academic piece, but more as a reflective piece that can also allow for more freedom to voice opinions or additional information that is relevant.        Please include the following information:
·       Identify what contributed to the formation of Mexican identity.
·       Develop an analysis that explains the cultural impact of                     colonization and independence within the context of understanding Mexican identity. (ie. consider the content on intersectionality). 
o   Include examples of how intersectionality can help                understand various experiences within Mexican and/or           Mexican American communities – provide some examples.    You may reference modern day examples, but be sure to       provide historical context. 
o   Be sure to identify the intersecting identities you reference. 
o   Be sure to identify if this is an example of how those                 intersecting identities result in an experience of privilege or    oppression? Explain how so, and why. 
·       Add any additional thoughts, conclusions, or questions as you wish. 
·       Your article should be 3+ paragraphs. 
·       All of your article should be in your own words. 
·       Cite your sources using MLA formatting.
