In your essay, first establish your definition of modernism as it manifested itself in Latin America (modernism was a global movement with different incarnations depending on the country). You may either use Tapscott as a starting point and expand on his explanation, or you may define the term using another source. Do not simply quote from Tapscott and leave it at that. You need to expand on his definition. After you establish your definition, argue for how at least two of the authors or texts are representative of the term that defines this period of literature.
