Part 4:
TCM Diagnosis, Etiology & Pathology:
TCM pattern diagnosis is stated clearly and fully supported with a list of individual signs and symptoms.
A full assessment of the patient’s Chinese medical diagnostic status is provided, including:
a) State patient’s Chinese medical diagnosis and present a clear list of the signs and symptoms that support each component of the dx. All supporting signs and symptoms must be taken
from the intake information in the Case Description / Case History section.
b) Present Differential Diagnosis(es); List each diagnosis that you considered before arriving at your final diagnosis. Present what was considered, why it was considered, and why it was ruled out.
• Clearly present a detailed Pathogenesis, and Etiology: A detailed explanation of the development of the patient’s current condition over time and based on your case history and intake, including full detail of TCM functions of organs, how they have been negatively impacted over time, and what symptoms have developed as a consequence.
Part 5:
Treatment:
State your treatment principles and describe your treatment protocols as they relate to your diagnosis and pattern differentiation.
• Acupuncture: Include details on the needle gauge, technique, and retention time, point combinations and/or herbal formula, herb dosages, and/or specific needling techniques used, and your justification for their use, based on your diagnosis.
• Herbal formula(s): List all herbal formula(s) and their function(s), detail all herbs, their dosages, and the function of each in the formula; describe any modification(s) and their rationale. If no herbs were actually prescribed, research separately and include your recommendations with all relevant information as described above and noting that not herbs were actually prescribed.
• Case Management: Also include information on case management – treatment frequency, length of treatment, adjunctive therapies (diet, exercise, etc.). Include a discussion of long-term case management and treatment strategies when appropriate.

References: Must be on a separate page.
Multiple sources are cited (not just basic texts), including at least one published article (or equivalent source). Balance of Western and Chinese medical sources are cited. Reference any information that is not general knowledge for a first-year acupuncture student. If you are not sure, reference it. It is expected that you will reference a minimum
of 5 sources:
• A TCM clinical textbook,
• an acupuncture point book,
• an herb textbook,
• peer- reviewed journal articles (Western and Chinese medical sources)
• a biomedical book.

I have created the PowerPoint slide according to the rubric. The section remaining section that is needed for this to be completed is the case analysis paper and a peer-reviewed journal article to back up the case analysis.
