The American Dream has long been characterized as one’s ability to move out of the socio economic status they were born into. Over the last ten or so years this has began to change and people have less of an ability to move out of the class background they were born into. What are some of the reasons this is happening? Is there a way to change it? Education, especially a college education, has always been seen as a way out, but with college getting more and more expensive and people going further in debt to go to college, do you think this is still a way out? What do you see as your own prospects for doing better or even the same fiscally as your parents? How have recent events like climate change or covid – changed your perspective on your ability to find a good job after graduation?
