The idea of this course, Literature for Global Understanding, is that students who read literature from another world culture will not only broaden their worldview but may even come to understand their own culture differently. Write a personal essay in which you explain how specific readings in this course have changed your understanding of your own culture (American, Californian, African-American, Vietnamese-American, etc.).
