The Project Concept, which constitutes 15% of the overall grade, requires each student to choose a specific example and generally describe it in a one (1)- to two (2)-page proposal, appropriately referenced; the proposal should provide an overview of the example, its main people and organization, and the point in time and place in which it was developed.
Key People (20% of overall grade) requires each student to profile the main and supporting individuals involved in the example. More than a biography, this is oriented towards sketching the time and place, sequence of events, practices, and aspects of human, financial, and operational resources that led to developing the selected innovative product, service, program, or campaign. Overall, it makes clear what the entrepreneur did and how it was done, but even more why the people involved did the things they did. This section should be covered in a document about two (2) pages in length. Key Organizations (20% of overall grade) is similar in requirements to the “Key People” component, but with attention to the main, supporting, and partner organizations involved in the entrepreneurial pursuit. This section should be covered in a document about two (2) pages in length. Key Principles and Theories (20% of overall grade) focuses on identifying the basic principles and theories of management, human behavior, and organizational behavior that explain reasons why things in the example emerged and evolved in the particular ways that they did. This section should be covered in a document about two (2) pages in length.
Final Analysis (25% of overall grade) involves bringing all of the above components together and editing them into one document, a maximum of ten (10) pages in length, appropriately referenced (plus additional works cited page). This component typically includes the development of conclusions and discussion of implications of the example as they relate to the world today and its shaping tomorrow.
