Discussion Question 1
The video you are required to watch has to do with two situations. The first situation involves a police situation in Dallas that ended with police shooting a mentally ill person. The second situation involved 2 officers who completed Critical Incident Training (CIT) now required by all law enforcement agencies. This training is considered to be one of the best trainings that officers receive during their initial training. Answer the following three questions:
What could the officers from Dallas have done differently to have mitigated the situation and avoided the death of that individual. What did the officers do in San Antonio that you thought was really effective with the people they responded too? When you start your career in criminal justice, what kind of a criminal justice professional do you want to be remembered as?
