Before you can determine the relevance of a study to nursing practice, you must evaluate it. Not all studies are equal in terms of their validity and reliability. Some key questions that you may consider when evaluating a quantitative research study are: 
What is the study design of the research, and how does it impact the study findings?  
How was the study methodology developed, and is it appropriate for the research question being studied?  
What sampling method was used, and is it representative of the population being studied?  
What statistical analysis methods were used to analyze the data, and are they appropriate for the research question being studied?  
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the study, and how might they impact the generalizability of the study findings? 
For this Assignment, you evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of a quantitative research study and consider its impact on nursing practice. 
To prepare:

Select an article from a list of 7, which are posted in the Announcement for this week. Choose an article based on a topic of your interest (topics included are: women’s health, mental health, veteran care, incarcerated population, pediatrics, community health, medical-surgical).
