As you watch the video you have selected, you will complete your preferred Observation Form
among the ones you submitted for the Finding and Evaluating Observations Protocols
Assignment. For the written portions of this assignment, please use a fictitious teacher name.
Pre-Observation Conference
During this mock conference you will establish the focus of your observation. You will write
about how you would conduct this conference, including the questions you would ask and what
information you would expect to learn from the teacher to prepare you for the observation.
Please scriipt your expected dialogue with the teacher as you ask questions and as they respond.
You will also want to know that the teacher is prepared for the observation by making sure they
know what to expect.
Observation
During the observation, you will watch the video you selected and will mark your observation
form to collect the data needed to evaluate the instruction provided. This observation form is one
of the forms you found in your Finding and Evaluating Observations Protocols Assignment.
Please select a standards-based form and not just a checklist. This completed form must be
submitted as a part of your assignment.
Post-Observation Conference
For this mock conference, you will include an analysis and an interpretation of the data you
collected during the observation. You will then discuss your observation and your analysis of the
data with the teacher and write a scriipt of the conversation you would have with the teacher. This
will include the questions you will ask, their anticipated responses, and then your
recommendations.
You will need to discuss the implications of the data noting 3-4 commendations and 3-4 specific
recommendations, including any needed instructional improvements and professional
development. Based on this information, you will establish the focus for the next observation.
This assignment must be written in current APA format which includes a title page and an APA-
compliant reference page.
It will be acceptable for you to submit the Observation Form as a separate document to Canvas,
if necessary.
