In response to your peers, comment on the alternative energy source that they have chosen and how that compares to what you discussed. You must support your 2 peers responses with scholarly sources in APA format. Simply stating your opinion is not enough, back up your opinion with citations. Tell why or why not you agree or disagree with the information in the peer posts. Your responses should be as good as your initial post! Dig deep with your responses and elaborate more on the topic and why you agree or disagree with the post. Initial post should be at least 4 paragraphs and your responses should be 4-6 paragraphs long.
Charleen’s post Professor and Fellow Students,
Iam choosing to write about solar energy. Sunlight is one of the planet’s most freely avaliable energy source, but the amount of sunlight we can get can vary greatly depending on location, season and time of day. Solar power generates electricity by capturing sunlight on solar panels in a joint chemicval and physical reaction known as the photovoltaic effect or in shorter terms (PV). The sun is absorbed by the PV cells in the panel. This energy creates electric chargesthat move in responce to an internal electrical field in the cell, causing electric to flow. Negitive aspects from solar power are Habit loss, Land damage, Water use, Toxic waste, Upfront Cost, Sunlight Dependence, Installation Difficulty, Space Constraints,Storage Cost, Relocation Diffculty and Material Scarcity. Positive effects of solar power are Enviormental Benefits, Health Benifits, Cost Saving, Home Value, Reliability, Climate Adaptability, Accessibility and Low Maintenance.
When considering environmental impact and sustainability, solar power is generally considered a betterchoice than fossil fuels. Solar energy is a renewable source that produces no harmful agents to the air. Fossil Fuels contribute significantly to climate changeby releasing greenhouse gases when burned. points to consider are Enviorment Impact, Renewable Resources and Cost Effectivenes

Cassidy’s postSolar Energy
Advantages:
– Renewable: Solar energy is plentiful and perpetual while the sun exists.
– Eco-friendly: It generates no greenhouse gases when operational, thus reducing the carbon footprint.
– Low Maintenance Costs: Solar panels necessitate minimal upkeep and operate at low costs post-installation.
– Versatile: Solar installations can range from small-scale (such as on residential roofs) to large-scale (like solar farms).
Disadvantages:
– Intermittent: Solar energy relies on climatic conditions and daylight, rendering it unreliable without backup systems.
– Initial Investment: The initial expenditure for solar panels and their installation is considerable.
– Land Use: Solar farms demand a substantial amount of land.
– Storage Needs: To ensure power availability during non-sunny periods, expensive storage systems are required.
Coal
Advantages:
Reliability: Coal-fired power stations can generate electricity consistently, offering a dependable energy supply.
Infrastructure: The coal industry benefits from an established infrastructure for mining, transport, and electricity production.
Economic Impact: The coal sector provides employment opportunities and economic growth in various regions.
Disadvantages:
Environmental Effects: The combustion of coal emits substantial CO₂ and pollutants, contributing to air pollution and global warming.
Resource Limitation: Coal is a finite resource with dwindling reserves.
Health Concerns: The processes of coal mining and burning pose severe health risks to workers and surrounding populations.
Ecological Damage: The extraction of coal results in considerable ecological damage and loss of habitats.
Although coal has served as a dependable and economically advantageous energy source, its environmental and health repercussions are considerable. Solar energy, with its variable availability and higher upfront costs, presents a cleaner, more sustainable option. In light of the pressing imperative to tackle climate change and curtail greenhouse gas emissions, solar energy emerges as the preferable option for the future. Committing to advancements in solar technology and storage capabilities can mitigate its present constraints and facilitate the transition to a more sustainable energy paradigm.
